Hello my dear Students! Today in this post, I will try to cover the topic "What is NEET Exam" 


The NEET exam: As you that the NEET also known for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. And it is an entrance examination in India for students who wish to study undergraduate medical courses. There are some examples you can refer here MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery), BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery), AYUSH ( Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) courses, in government or private medical colleges across the country.


🧬 Full Form - NEET = National Eligibility cum Entrance Test


🏫 Conducted by - The National Testing Agency (NTA) — an autonomous body under the Government of India.

🎯 Purpose

To determine admission eligibility for:

  • MBBS – Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery

  • BDS – Bachelor of Dental Surgery

  • AYUSH – Courses like BAMS (Ayurveda), BHMS (Homeopathy), BUMS (Unani), etc.

  • Some nursing and veterinary courses also consider NEET scores.


📅 Exam Details

  • Mode: Offline (pen-and-paper)

  • Duration: 3 hours 20 minutes

  • Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology)

  • Total Marks: 720

  • Questions: 180 (out of 200 optional questions)


🧾 Eligibility

  • Must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

  • Minimum age: 17 years (by Dec 31 of the admission year).

  • No upper age limit (as of recent updates).

  • Indian nationals, NRIs, and foreign nationals can apply.


🎓 Importance

NEET is the only national-level medical entrance exam in India — it replaced exams like AIPMT and various state-level medical entrance tests.
